More and more advertisement companies are using popular music/songs to hawk their clients products and the commercial jingle is pretty much non-existant. Cool or not cool?
Does it ruin it for you when you hear a song you like being played on a lame commercial for butter, a cleaning supply, or tampons?
Is it ok as long as the product being advertised is something like a truck, an ipod, cell phone, or pizza?
Do I have too much time on my hands?

  1. I Feel Like Sunshine

Hearing songs from when you were a kid on commercials means you are old.
Sometimes, it’s obvious that the tune is being used to sell to a specific age group. That is both lame and tacky.
It does not ruin the song: I have been reminded of a few forgotten tunes by catching a bit on a commercial.
It’s not always ok: Led Zeppelin on the cadillac commercial is inappropriate, lame, and just stupid.
I love the Harley commercial with Guns and Roses “Paradise City.” That commercial is more than appropriate, it goes well with some very cool memories of a great period of my life, and always makes me smile because of it.
